REACH SMEs workshop
Brussels, 10-11 December 2013
The European Commission, in co-operation with ECHA, is organising a workshop to find solutions to REACH registration problems and to bring together SMEs and larger companies.
The REACH Regulation is a challenge and an opportunity for all companies in the chemicals sector. In view of the upcoming 2018 registration deadline for smaller tonnages (1tonne to 10tonnes per year), many small, medium and micro-sized enterprises will be involved. Are you one of those? Are you working to deliver REACH-related services to SMEs or representing these companies at EU level ? Do you represent a trade sector and would you like to contribute? Do you represent a large company? The Commission is aware of the challenges ahead and would like to hear your voice!
The workshop scheduled for 10 and 11 December in Brussels will offer an opportunity for those in the front line (especially small, medium and micro businesses) to exchange and discuss with other REACH actors. Together, we can identify problems ahead and foster solutions. Please fill in the survey below to help setting the agenda for this two-day event and indicate whether you wish to participate in the workshop. We are also looking for real life examples of registration problems, i.e. malfunctioning of the Substance Exchange Information Forums (SIEFs). The Commission needs your help and will make sure that your contribution will remain confidential.
Due to the limited capacity of the room, only 50 participants will be selected to participate in the workshop. The selection process aims to ensure a fair representation of stakeholders. Travel expenses and accommodation of SME participants will be reimbursed.
